Selecting the best Section Type for your information is important.
Familiarize yourself with the sections and their functionality.





When to use Sections and Items

SECTIONS contain information that would be best broken down into subcategories. An example of a section would be Classrooms. A subsection of Classrooms would be First Grade and a further subsection would be Ms. Johnson's room 103.

ITEMS are discrete bits of information that may be fully described in one story. They are all related to the theme of the section and are too short to make into sections.



  • The EVENT (Calendar) Section uses Items for each event.


  • The NEWS Section uses Items for each article.


  • The FAQ creates links out of items. These links jump down to the desired
    part of a long page.


  • The DIRECTORY (Contact List) uses Items for each contact entry.
